In January 2026, AFJN‑Ghana strengthened its partnership with AVERU PAWA Electrical Works to launch a four‑month electrical wiring training program designed to equip young women with valuable technical skills. The initiative supports five girls selected from communities where AFJN‑Ghana works to prevent early marriage and domestic servitude, providing them with a practical pathway to economic independence.

This skills‑training program is delivered by Mr. Roland of AVERU PAWA, whose expertise has created a hands‑on learning environment where the trainees are steadily gaining confidence. The girls are learning the fundamentals of electrical systems, practicing wiring tasks, and mastering the use of tools and equipment. Their dedication has been impressive, with strong attendance and enthusiastic participation throughout the sessions.

As the program progresses, the trainees are on track to meet the requirements for Government of Ghana certification, which will qualify them for employment, apprenticeships, or small‑scale electrical work. The initiative is already helping the girls build confidence, challenge gender norms, and see new possibilities for their future.

By combining AFJN‑Ghana’s commitment to protecting vulnerable girls with AVERU PAWA’s technical expertise, this partnership is creating meaningful, long‑term opportunities for empowerment and economic stability.
