Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN-Ghana) has launched a transformative skills‑training initiative aimed at empowering young girls in Ghana through electrical wiring. This project is being implemented in collaboration with AVERU PAWA Electrical Works, led by Mr. Roland, who brings extensive technical experience and commitment to quality vocational training.

The program currently has five participants, all of whom were selected by their respective communities. These are communities AFJN-Ghana has been engaging on issues of early marriage and domestic servitude, and the selection process ensures that girls at risk are given an opportunity to build a secure and sustainable future.

This initiative provides a four‑month intensive training, combining both theoretical learning and hands‑on practical experience. Throughout the training period, the girls will gain essential competencies in electrical installation, wiring systems, equipment handling, and safety procedures—skills that prepare them for real‑world work in the electrical field.

To eliminate financial barriers and promote equal access, AFJN Ghana is covering all costs, including training fees, accommodation, and feeding. This full sponsorship demonstrates AFJN’s commitment to nurturing independence, confidence, and long‑term empowerment among young women.

Upon successful completion of the four‑month program, each trainee will receive an official certification from the Government of Ghana, granting them formal recognition as certified electricians. This milestone positions them to pursue dignified employment, entrepreneurship, and economic self‑reliance.

Through our hands‑on training initiatives, AFJN Ghana reaffirms our commitment to nurturing communities where young girls are safeguarded, uplifted, and provided with genuine pathways to succeed. By pairing practical skills development with efforts to address social challenges, AFJN-Ghana empowers the next generation of young women to stand with confidence, aspire boldly, and make meaningful contributions to society.
