As part of our ongoing mission to promote child protection and safeguard the rights of young people, Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) Ghana conducted an important outreach session at St. Monica R/C JHS in Nyankpala. The team was led by Sr. Ignatia Sarfowaa Buabeng, the National Coordinator of AFJN Ghana, accompanied by Mr. Simon and one of our team members, all working together to create meaningful engagement with the students.

The discussion focused on two pressing issues affecting many children across communities: early and child marriage and domestic servitude. Through open dialogue and interactive engagement, Sr. Ignatia explained the dangers, long‑term consequences, and emotional impact of these harmful practices. She emphasized the value of education, the importance of self‑worth, and the need for young people to make informed decisions that protect their wellbeing and future opportunities.

Mr. Simon and our team further strengthened the conversation by encouraging students to speak up, ask questions, and understand their rights. The team highlighted the role young people can play in challenging these practices within their communities and supporting peers who may be at risk.

The visit created a safe and empowering environment for the students to reflect, learn, and express themselves. Our continued engagement demonstrates AFJN Ghana’s commitment to ensuring that children are informed, empowered, and supported to grow into confident and socially aware young leaders.
