Reflecting on God’s Love and Our Shared Responsibility to Protect Every Human Life

As we journey from the sorrow of Good Friday into the light and joy of Easter, AFJN Ghana joins Christians everywhere in reflecting on the powerful love of God shown through Jesus Christ. Easter reminds us that even in moments of deep suffering, God’s love never abandons us. It restores hope, rebuilds strength, and reminds us that every person matters.

The Bible tells us that “God created humankind in His image” (Genesis 1:27). This simple truth says something extraordinary: every human being carries God’s likeness. Every person—no matter their background, gender, age, or circumstance—has dignity that must be respected, protected, and cherished. Good Friday shows us the depth of this love. Jesus gave His life for all humanity, affirming the worth of every single one of us.

At AFJN Ghana, this message lies at the centre of our work. Easter encourages us not just to celebrate the Resurrection, but to live it out each day—by standing with the poor, defending the vulnerable, speaking out against injustice, and working for a society where everyone’s rights and dignity are upheld. The Resurrection invites us to hope again, to believe that change is possible, and to keep pushing for a more just and compassionate world.

As Christ’s tomb was opened, may we also open spaces for justice, for peace, for fairness, and for love to thrive in our communities. May we roll away the “stones” that hold people down—poverty, exclusion, exploitation, and all forms of injustice.

This Easter, our prayer is that the Risen Christ fills your home, your heart, and your work with peace, courage, and renewed purpose.

AFJN Ghana wishes all our friends, partners, and communities a blessed and joy-filled Easter.
